ArrayLabs uses servers based on the Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP for short) platform which continues as the dominate web platform.
So what does this really mean?
Our servers are stable, secure, U.S. based, and managed by us. Now this doesn’t mean we have a room full of servers sitting in the basement subject to cooling and power requirements beyond our means or control; instead they are sitting in a secure data center in Dallas, Texas. The data center experts ensure the server hardware is properly maintained and connected to a redundant high speed internet backbone. We have service level agreements with the data center to ensure timely support if the need arises.
So again what does this really mean?
Basically if you host your site with ArrayLabs it will be hosted in a secure U.S. based datacenter with multiple high speed connections to the internet and managed by ArrayLabs. So if you do have an issue or problem you deal with us directly and we take the necessary steps to ensure resolution.
What about backups?
We’ve got that taken care of as well. The files and databases on our servers are backed up daily with those backups residing on separate servers. ArrayLabs maintains daily backups, then rolls the latest daily into a weekly backup. We keep four (4) weekly backups then roll the latest into a monthly backup and we keep the monthly backups for at least a year before removing the oldest to make room for the newest. We know that sounds a little complicated but it allows us to restore your site, if needed, to a backup a few days old, a couple weeks old, or a couple months old.
Do I have to do anything?
If hosting with ArrayLabs we take care of everything, including:
- Domain name purchases or renewals
- Pointing your domain name to your ArrayLabs hosting account
- Setting up externally hosted email if requested
- Setup of your new or existing site
- Server maintenance and updates
- Site and database backups
- And the various other technical aspects in getting your site to your clients.
Can I host my site elsewhere?
